Getting started

If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like something from your past is holding you back in the present — therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. Many people come to therapy simply wanting to understand themselves better or to break unhelpful patterns.

The free 30-minute introduction call is a good first step. It's informal, low-pressure, and gives you a chance to see whether working together feels right — without any commitment.

The introduction call lasts about 30 minutes and is completely free. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you're hoping for, and whether my approach feels like a good fit for you.

There's no pressure, no assessment, and no commitment required. It's simply a relaxed conversation to help you decide if you'd like to move forward.

The first session is an intake session. We take time to understand your history, your current situation, and what you'd like to work on. I may ask questions about your background, your relationships, and how your difficulties show up in daily life.

By the end of the intake, we'll have a clearer picture of what to focus on, and I'll share my initial thoughts on how we might work together.

Current waiting time is approximately 2–4 weeks from initial contact to the first session. I'll do my best to accommodate your schedule and preferred time slots where possible.

Fees & insurance

Each therapy session is 60 minutes and costs €110. The free 30-minute introduction call is always free and without commitment.

There are no hidden fees. What's included: e-health intake documents, session exercises and psychoeducation materials, brief between-session contact where needed, and ongoing treatment plan evaluation.

Coverage depends on your insurance provider and plan. I recommend contacting your insurer directly to ask about reimbursement for psychological therapy with a registered psychologist.

I can provide invoices and session summaries to support reimbursement claims where applicable.

Payment details will be discussed during the intake process. Bank transfer is accepted. Please get in touch if you have specific questions about payment arrangements.

Sessions & format

This varies widely depending on what you're working on. Some people experience meaningful shifts in 8–12 sessions. Others benefit from longer-term work. We regularly evaluate progress together and adjust the plan accordingly.

I never extend therapy beyond what's genuinely needed. My goal is to help you heal independently — not to create dependency.

Yes — all therapy modalities, including EMDR, can be done effectively online. Online sessions are available to clients worldwide and use a private, secure video platform.

Research consistently shows that online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for most presentations.

In-person sessions are available in the Surat Thani (Ko Samui area) region of Thailand. Please get in touch to discuss availability and location details.

Sessions are available in both Dutch and English. I work with many international clients and expats, and am fully comfortable working in either language.

Most clients begin with weekly sessions. As progress is made, the frequency may decrease to bi-weekly and eventually monthly for consolidation. We'll decide together what pace feels right for you.

Therapy approaches

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy that helps the brain process traumatic memories that have become "stuck." During EMDR, you briefly focus on a distressing memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation — typically eye movements.

This process allows the memory to be reprocessed so that it loses its emotional charge. EMDR is one of the most evidence-based treatments for trauma and PTSD, endorsed by the WHO and NHS.

Yes. EMDR can be delivered effectively online using screen-based bilateral stimulation. Research supports the effectiveness of online EMDR, and many clients find the comfort of their own environment actually supports the process.

No formal diagnosis is needed. Many people I work with haven't received — and don't need — a clinical diagnosis. If you're struggling with anxiety, low self-worth, emotional difficulties, relationship patterns, or a sense that your past affects your present, that's enough.

Schema Therapy is a deep-level therapy that addresses long-standing patterns — called schemas — that developed in childhood and continue to drive unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in adulthood. It combines elements of CBT, attachment theory, and experiential techniques.

It's particularly effective for people who feel stuck in repeating patterns, struggle with self-worth, or have found shorter-term therapies insufficient.

Practical

I hold an MSc in Psychology with specialisations in Social Psychology and Neurocognitive Science. I have completed extensive postgraduate training in EMDR, Schema Therapy, ACT, and CBT. Full details are available on the Clinical Training page.

Yes. Everything you share in sessions is strictly confidential. The only exceptions are the standard legal limits — for example, if there is a serious risk of harm to you or others. I will always discuss confidentiality clearly at the start of our work together.

The therapeutic relationship matters enormously. If at any point you feel our work isn't the right fit, I encourage you to say so openly — I take that feedback seriously and without judgement. You are always free to stop or to seek a different therapist, and I will support that process if needed.

Please give at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be charged. You can reach me via email or WhatsApp.
